We are in Tiberias, Israel!

Dear friends,

We have arrived in Israel! We came to TelAviv on Thursday evening at around 5:45. We had great flights and great connections. We traveled through traffic jams to Arbel to a place that we thought was going to be very nice for our stay and found it to be very dirty and dillapidated! So we slept the night and went to a very nice motel overlooking the Sea of Gallilee!

When you look to the left from our balcony, you can see Mount Arbel, the mountain where Jesus went to pray many times, and it is believed it is the mountain where Jesus began his leading of the 12 disciples as well in his first beginnings with them.

It was a mountain where the rabbis would teach their first sessions of their students. We went there as the first place to see, and sat, reclined, viewed observed, and even wept in the very spots where we believe that Jesus must have sat - perhaps even slept!

The bible talks about Jesus seeing the multitude and being moved with compassion, and also going to the mountain to remit from them. This seems to be the most logical mountain because of its location from his hometown, and because of the strategic place to remit to from his travels! From this spot he could view the peoples where they gathered, waiting for him as he prayed over them, and waited for power from heaven to minister to them.

He could see very far on each side of the lake; up north to Capernaum, and then on the far side the lake where he could see the multitude gather and then went over and multiplied the loaves and fish for them to eat after he taught them!

From here he could see the disciples struggling on the Sea after he sent them to go across!

Oh my! Many updates still to come! It's so wonderful!

Be blessed and walk in the glory of God! In Him, La-el and Cheryl!

  1. Somehow that thought of my Lord Jesus waiting for power from on High before going down to minister - it grips me and thrills me and yet is so amazing that He would humble Himself to live in that need! Oh, the thrill now of finding the same Spirit that anointed Him with power moving in our/my life today!

Sorry for this late post....catching up on your posts that I missed. Keep them coming....so wonderful to hear and share. God bless you.
